Skunkape Revival

Even though this blog is called "Skunkape Revival," so far I have not posted much in relation to our hairy, cryptozoological allies. All that changes now.

Oct. 14-16, 2005 - The Fifth Annual Texas Bigfoot Convention in Jefferson, Texas. I am SOOOO there.

So, that should clear that up.

Jefferson is definitely on my places-to-visit-in-Texas list too. Not only does it seem like a cool little town with some really beautiful cypress swamps to photograph, but it's one of the most haunted towns in Texas as well. The perfect place for a weekend Scooby Doo adventure. They've even got a carriage-drawn ghost tour and a ghost train. Beat that.

So here's the top five places (right now) that I want to road trip to in Texas.

1. Marfa - I'm dying to see those lights. Have a good ole X-Files-esque weekend.
2. Big Bend National Park - maybe swing by Boquillas and Alpine while I'm at it.
3. Jefferson
4. Corpus Christi - If nothing else, it will be good research for the book I plan to write with the same name.
5. Luckenbach - Though I'm afraid this place may have become over-commercialized (I get that vibe from Web site), Ben M. has instructed me that I must visit. I do love the Hill Country... so maybe I should go - spin some girls cross that old dancehall floor.
